Claudine Tisbury (behaviourist) :-HNC in Canine Behaviour and Training; Qualified Judge (Open and championship Dog Obedience Shows); Qualified Dog Groomer; HND in Sports Therapy; 7307 Education Certificate; D32 and D33 NVQ Assessor Award; RSA Fitness Instructor; Reiki Healer Part 1.
Claudine currently owns 6 dogs: - 3 of which are rescued.
She has always had dogs in her life and spent many hours training her own dogs. She is particularly proud of the fact one of her dogs won Third Place in an Exception Obedience Show, his first show - this dog was labelled aggressive before Claudine rescued him.
Jane Nettleton (secretary, behaviourist) : - HNC in Canine Behaviour and Training, Certificate in Obedience Training, Qualified Judge at Open and Championship Dog obedience Shows, Qualified Dog Groomer, Reiki Healer Part 1.
Jane is now a three-dog family. One rescued.
Jane started training dogs in 1982 her first dog was labelled nervous aggressive the smallest in the litter and very scared when collected from a local pet shop.
She turned out to be a fantastic companion and a good obedience competition dog winning lots of prizes in working class novice and A. From 1987 Jane assisted with the training at other clubs in the area before Karma Dog Training was formed. She has also run workshops on working with Bearded Collies for obedience.
Both Claudine and Jane work with other local dog charities on the rehabilitation of dogs that are struggling with the transition from kennels into a new home.
They  specialise in dealing with aggressive dogs, which is an area of dog training that very few trainers will undertake.
Lorraine King (chairman) : - Lorraine has three dogs, one of which is rescued. She first became involved in the charity after taking on a Rottweiler male who had been badly treated as a puppy. He had lost his faith in humans. When  his owners no longer wanted him, afraid of his behaviour, they asked Lorraine to take him on. If she had not have agreed he would most certainly have been destroyed. After many years of love in his new home, he sadly was sadly lost to cancer. Lorraine met Jane and Claudine through their training classes and so inspired by their cause she joined immediately. Lorraine's other dogs include a rottweiler cross, and two female boxer littermates. Caila has passed her Kennel Club gold award.
Gill Boot : - Gill is now a four dog family. O ne of which, a collie called Tuppence, is rescued. Tuppence is a very bright dog, who had fixation issues. Her previous home, although loving, had not given her enough mental stimulation. She has now gone on to win numerous rosettes at obedience shows, including a first in a Novice class. Her other dogs include a white boxer and two further collies.
Lesley Nicholls : - Lesley has three dogs. Daisy, a Dalmation cross rescued at under a year old. She was a dog with a lot of energy living with a family that could not cope with her exuberant nature. She first met the Spirit of the Dog team when she sought help to train her Golden Retriever. Chloe was so nervous she would frantically try to escape from any new situation and even run across busy roads to get away. She now competes at Obedience Shows across the East of England and has won numerous rosettes. Her other dog is another Golden Retriever.
Sarah-Jane Dartnell : - Sarah has a Jack Russell called Muffin. She is a dance teacher and often does heelwork to music demonstrations with Muffin at Spirit of the Dog fundraising shows. She loves to train Muffin to help keep her entertained and give her the best out of life. They have a lovely friendship.
Helen Winrow: - Helen has numerous rescue dogs and helps the charity by collection foreign currency from Harwich International Port.
Jean Chapman : - Jean is the oldest member of the committee and Jane's mum. She helps to run the stalls at fundraising events, and has often helped in short-term fostering for dogs in desperate need of a home.
Brenda : - Brenda is the newst member of the committee. She joined after hearing of the charity through Karma Dog Training where she attended to get help training her strong-willed Collie. She helps with fundraising at many dog shows and events.
Julie Simpson (Treasurer): - Julie has a Gordon Setter Cross and a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. She joined Spirit of the Dog after experiencing difficulties letting her Gordon Setter off the lead. She is committed now to help set up a dog park for other owners that need a secure area to exercise their dogs.
