Claudine Tisbury (behaviourist) :-HNC in Canine Behaviour and Training; Qualified Judge (Open and championship Dog Obedience Shows); Qualified Dog Groomer; HND in Sports Therapy; 7307 Education Certificate; D32 and D33 NVQ Assessor Award; RSA Fitness Instructor; Reiki Healer Part 1.
Claudine currently owns 6 dogs: - 3 of which are rescued.
She has always had dogs in her life and spent many hours training her own dogs. She is particularly proud of the fact one of her dogs won Third Place in an Exception Obedience Show, his first show - this dog was labelled aggressive before Claudine rescued him.

Jane Nettleton (secretary, behaviourist) : - HNC in Canine Behaviour and Training, Certificate in Obedience Training, Qualified Judge at Open and Championship Dog obedience Shows, Qualified Dog Groomer, Reiki Healer Part 1.
Jane started training dogs in 1982 her first dog was labelled nervous aggressive the smallest in the litter and very scared when collected from a local pet shop.
She turned out to be a fantastic companion and a good obedience competition dog winning lots of prizes in working class novice and A. From 1987 Jane assisted with the training at other clubs in the area before Karma Dog Training was formed. She has also run workshops on working with Bearded Collies for obedience.
Both Claudine and Jane work with other local dog charities on the rehabilitation of dogs that are struggling with the transition from kennels into a new home.
They  specialise in dealing with aggressive dogs, which is an area of dog training that very few trainers will undertake.
Jane has Alfie, a collie cross who did obedience but has retired; Missy, a collie cross who has worked in obedience but now competes in flyball; and Tala, a saluki cross rescue now training for flyball.

Lorraine King (chairman) : - Lorraine has one dog, Buttons, who is a retired racing greyhound. She first became involved in the charity after taking on a Rottweiler male who had been badly treated as a puppy. He had lost his faith in humans. When  his owners no longer wanted him, afraid of his behaviour, they asked Lorraine to take him on. If she had not have agreed he would most certainly have been destroyed. After many years of love in his new home, he sadly was sadly lost to cancer. Lorraine met Jane and Claudine through their training classes and so inspired by their cause she joined immediately. Lorraine has also owner two boxers and a rottweiler/newfoundland who was a rescue puppy - sadly all three have passed.

Gill Boot : - Gill has a collie called Blue (aged 13);  a collie called Tuppence (rescue) who had fixation issues - her previous home, although loving, had not given her enough mental stimulation, though she  has now gone on to win numerous rosettes at obedience shows; Flo a collie who competes in obedience; Balu, a cross breed rescued from a kill shelter in Romania who competes in obedience; Mia, a kelpie collie cross rescue training in obedience and agility. Gill often also has a foster dog too, which is currently a cross breed from a Romania kill shelter called Regina

Lesley Nicholls : - Lesley has three dogs. Daisy, a Dalmation cross rescued at 8 months old. She was a dog with a lot of energy living with a family that could not cope with her exuberant nature. She first met the Spirit of the Dog team when she sought help to train her Golden Retriever. Chloe was so nervous she would frantically try to escape from any new situation and even run across busy roads to get away. Lesley has competed at Obedience Shows across the East of England and has won numerous rosettes with Chloe and Daisy who have now both retired and her other dog, another Golden Retriever, called Tayler.

Helen Winrow: - Helen has numerous rescue dogs and helps the charity by collection foreign currency from Harwich International Port.

Brenda Garrett: - Brenda joined after hearing of the charity through Karma Dog Training where she attended to get help training her strong-willed collie. She helps with fundraising at many dog shows and events. Brenda has Dexter and Bella, brother and sister border collies; Taz a three-year-old collie cross, and Nikita a Bedlington / whippet. She enjoys taking part in flyball with her dogs.

Sarah Walters: - Sarah has three dogs - Ky a dobermann; Shadow a German shepherd; and Loki a rottweiler cross German shepherd who is a rescue. Loki came to Spirit of the Dog as his owners were unable to manage him and he had been unable to find a new home.

New home needed for

Border Collie puppy

5 month old puppy Jimmy has been surrendered by his disabled owner who felt couldn't give him enough exercise. Jimmy would make a fantastic working dog or companion to a breed experienced owner. He is in kennels waiting for a home.
